Join The Black Wineo for the annual National Wine Day celebration. National Wine Day is Saturday, May 25th but were kicking things off early on #WineWednesday with a special Happy Hour at Private Client (next door to Champan & Kirby) on Wednesday, May 22nd from 6-10pm. This year we're highlighting the elevated pairing of Fried chicken & Champagne. A Southern delicacy and fun pairing brought to you by the team from Southern Jerks. Guests will enjoy happy hour cocktail + sparkling wine specials and bites from the Southern Jerks Caribbean inspired menu. Paid ticketed guests will receive a wristband for drink samples and our specially created pairing menu from Southern Jerks plus a chance to participate in our giveaways. Wineos will leave with an appreciation for pairing fine wines and Southern cuisine and culture. Come wine down after work to toast with like minded wineos, business professionals and some of Houston's influencers as we raise a glass to another National Wine Day. The party continues at the Houston Livestock & Rodeo to commemorate the Black Wineo’s first year serving as a Rodeo Uncorked Wine judge for the 21st Annual International Wine Competition. Meet me in the Champion Wine Garden on March 12th for the ultimate pregame before the Bun B All-American Takeover concert. Entry is FREE with your concert or grounds ticket. Guests will enjoy live music wine samples and charcuterie while they last. The wine list will feature some Texas-grown, personal favorite award-winning wines from the International wine competiton. Bubbly, Red, Rose and white wine will be poured by The Black Wineo. Guests are welcome and encouraged to buy their own additional bottles from the garden while in attendance.

Join The Black Wineo & Kroger for pt.2 of a special "Sip & Shop" Toast to Black Heritage Night as we close out Black History Month at Cork & Tap on February 28, 2024. Guests are invited out for an afternoon wine down and happy hour at Kroger (Heights)1035 N. Shepherd for a FREE sampling of The Black Wineo's fave wine picks from the 21st Annual International Wine Competition available at Kroger.

The Cork & Tap bar features the largest wine & beer shop with over 2,000 bottles. Guests will leave feeling confident in their wine preference before heading to the Champion Wine Garden at the Rodeo or at their next dinner party. Explore new wines, snack on charcueterie and mix and mingle with some of Houston's wineo's and influencers. Guests who attend will also be given a second entry for our Black Heritage Night ticket giveaway powered by Kroger.

A Holiday Wine Pairing Dinner benefiting St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. This intimate three-course dinner will be paired with exquisite wine hand-picked by certified Sommelier Cornelius Anthony.

Anthony, who is based in Houston, is the owner of Demousse Sparkling Wine Club and Sommelier at Bravery Wine Bar.

The three-course meal will be prepared by Chef Eian Woodward.

The menu includes the following:

First Course

Spring Salad

Cherry Tomato, Cucumber, Red Onions with Sweet Toasted Walnuts, Feta & Citrus Vinaigrette

Second Course

Woodward Red Wine Brisket

Brisket marinated for 24 hours and slowly cooked in Merlot

OR

Pecan Crusted Chicken

Chicken Breast battered in Pecan flour braised in butter oil and spices

Served with Mashed Potato Melody and Charred Parmesan Brussel Sprouts

Third Course

Double Chocolate Raspberry Brownie

Brownie with fudge center dipped in white chocolate fondue

Music will be provided by the host of the night and Chief Waxaholic DJ Big Reeks.

The Come-Up Houston is an art installation that honors Black culture and artistry produced by an all-woman collaborative of Imani Rose of Sexface Cosmetics and Sonja Sonier of Body Lift Houston. Each room highlights the beauty, brilliance and resilience of Black art and its diverse works. The Black Wine-O will join forces with this collaborative on Friday, December 4th from 5-8pm providing a public wine tasting of 4 wines featured on the 25 Wines of Christmas Holiday Gift Guide. Come out and sample some fine wines while taking your wine knowledge to new heights. Each guest will be automatically entered in our holiday giveaway for a chance to win a holiday gift pack.
